JSW Landscaping & Surfacing
Lush, level new lawns, laid on ground prepared to the highest standard.

We prepare the ground to the highest standard and lay turf to create that perfect lawn. That means removing the old, moss-ridden grass, fixing drainage problems, bringing in quality topsoil, compacting and screeding it level, and adding a starter fertiliser for that crucial first growth.
For heavy clay or boggy lawns we cultivate sand into the ground and install land drains or gravel traps. For shady spots we can offer low-light, shade-tolerant turf for areas that never seem to grow.
Once your lawn is down we will give you aftercare advice, and on some jobs we have even lent customers temporary fencing to protect the new turf while it establishes.

Questions
Turf can be laid for most of the year. Autumn and spring are ideal; in hot, dry spells it needs plenty of watering, and it should not be laid on frozen ground.
Keep off it as much as possible for the first couple of weeks while the roots knit into the soil. We will give you aftercare advice on watering and the first cut.
Often the problem is drainage or poor soil. We have fixed new-build lawns that refused to grow by installing drainage and bringing in quality topsoil before re-turfing.
